Cookie Policy
Which cookies Prague Prime Stays uses and why. We use only essential cookies and run no analytics or advertising trackers.
This Cookie Policy explains how Prague Prime Stays uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. Prague Prime Stays is operated by Prague Prime Stays s.r.o., with its registered seat at Chudenická 1059/30, Hostivař, 102 00 Praha 15, Czech Republic (Company ID 29615763). For any question about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
We have deliberately built this website to use as few cookies as possible. We do not use any analytics, advertising, or social-media tracking cookies, and we do not operate any analytics platform (no Google Analytics, Plausible, Vercel Analytics, PostHog, or similar). Because we set no non-essential first-party cookies, we do not display a cookie consent banner on the public site.
What cookies are and the legal basis
Cookies are small text files that a website, or a service embedded in it, stores on your device when you visit. Similar technologies (such as browser local storage) work in a comparable way. Cookies are commonly classed as:
- Strictly necessary (essential) - required for a core part of the site to function (for example, keeping a logged-in user signed in). These do not require your consent.
- Functional, analytics, advertising - used to remember preferences, measure usage, or target advertising. These require your prior consent. We do not use cookies of these kinds.
A further distinction is between first-party cookies (set by Prague Prime Stays) and third-party cookies (set by another service whose content is embedded in a page).
The rules on cookies in the Czech Republic come from sec. 89 zakona c. 127/2005 Sb., o elektronickych komunikacich (the Czech Electronic Communications Act), which transposes the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC (as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC). Under these rules, storing information on, or gaining access to information already stored on, your device is permitted without consent only where it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested; for any other purpose, prior consent is required. Where the information involved is personal data, that processing is also subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, GDPR) and to Czech zakon c. 110/2019 Sb., o zpracovani osobnich udaju. Because the only cookies we set are strictly necessary, we rely on the strictly-necessary exemption and do not ask for consent for them. We do not currently set any cookie that would require consent.
Cookies and similar technologies we use
Strictly-necessary first-party cookies
The only first-party cookies we set are the authentication and session cookies used by our database and authentication provider, Supabase. These are used only in the staff admin area to keep authorised Prague Prime Stays team members signed in after they log in. They are not set for ordinary visitors browsing the public website or completing a booking, and they are strictly necessary for the admin login to work. They are managed by our database and authentication provider and are refreshed while a staff member remains signed in.
Third-party content: Google Maps
Apartment pages display an interactive map using Google Maps, provided by Google Ireland Ltd. When a map loads, Google receives your IP address and device data and may set its own cookies on your device, in line with Google's own policies. This is the only third-party embed on the public site. Google Maps loads only on pages that show a map; pages without a map do not contact Google.
If you do not want Google to receive this data or set cookies, you can decline or block third-party cookies in your browser, or avoid pages that display a map. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Cookie table
| Cookie / provider | Type | Purpose | Consent needed | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Supabase authentication / session cookies (first-party) | Strictly necessary | Keep authorised Prague Prime Stays staff signed in to the admin area after login | No (essential) | | Google Maps (Google Ireland Ltd, third-party) | Third-party functional | Display an interactive location map on apartment pages; may set Google's own cookies and shares your IP and device data with Google | Set by Google under its own terms; you can block third-party cookies in your browser |
We do not set any other cookies. In particular, we do not use analytics, advertising, retargeting, or social-media cookies, and there is no marketing email system, newsletter, or tracking pixel on the site today.
Other data handled without cookies
For completeness, some information is processed by our infrastructure without using cookies:
- IP addresses for rate-limiting - the public lead/contact form uses your IP address transiently, held in memory only and not stored as a cookie or persistent record, to limit abuse.
- Hosting and server logs - our hosting provider, Vercel, records standard server logs that include IP addresses and request metadata. These are server-side logs, not cookies.
For full detail on how we handle personal data, who our processors are, the legal bases we rely on, and your data-protection rights, please see our Privacy Policy.
Managing cookies in your browser
Because we do not use non-essential cookies, you do not need to change any settings to browse and book on our site privately. You can still control cookies at any time through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting cookies and refusing third-party cookies (which would prevent Google Maps from setting cookies, though the map may then not display).
Each browser handles cookies in its own settings, usually under a "Privacy" or "Cookies" section. You can find step-by-step instructions in your browser's help pages, for example:
- Google Chrome - support.google.com/chrome
- Mozilla Firefox - support.mozilla.org
- Apple Safari - support.apple.com
- Microsoft Edge - support.microsoft.com
Note that blocking the strictly-necessary Supabase cookies would prevent the staff admin area from working, but does not affect ordinary visitors or the booking flow.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if we change the technologies we use or add new third-party services. Any update will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. If we ever introduce non-essential cookies or analytics, we will first ask for your prior opt-in consent and update this policy accordingly.
